Historical Background Origin of Sabzevar
According to
antique and historical documents, during the reign of Taherian
dynaty,Sabzevar used to be part of Bayhagh's 12districts while Bayhagh
itself was one of the suburbs of Nishabur and the latter was one of the
4districts of the Greater Khorasan.According to historian Ebn-e
Fandogh,Bayhagh is the Arabic version of "Bayhin"meaning "Best"and
"Pimeh" meaning "strolled on Foot"and attributed to an individual named
"Baymeh"during the reign of Bahman and "Baymian" which means "very
generous"while Bayhagh, he suggests is the Arabic version of Baymak and
Baymeh,meaning "More Valuable". As to the name of Sabzevar and what it
stands for ,it has been narrated that the city was originally called
Sasuyeh Abad and this was Sasuyeh (Yazd Khosro) who first laid the
foundations of
