Natural Geography

The city of sabzevar has been licated west of khorassan razavi province and neighbors Jajarm and esfarayen cities in north khorasan province to the north nishabour to the east. Kashmar and bardscan to the south and shahroud in semnan province to the west.Mountains  plains and desert constitute the ecological fabric of sabzevar.Nazargaah and Kor heights partition Jovain plains in the north from Sabzevar plains to the south thus producing a fertile and independent territory there.The plains located in the southern and southwestern sections of the city ultimately merge with Dash-e Kavir desert. There flows no permanent river in Sabzevar,however,the Kaal shur seasonal rivers merge to from Abrisham Rud (silk river)in the southwestern corner of the city that servers as a channel to direct flood water to the desert.

Sabzevar and Jovain plains are very fertile and produce huge amounts of wheat.
