Sabzevar is a major producer of hand – woven carpet ,green cumin ,cumin essence and extract ,red pepper ,water melon ,water melon seed , cotton , sugar beat ,dried apricot ,sesame ,pea ,almond seed ,pistachio ,walnut ,skin ,pickled skin ,live sheep ,chicken meat and milk .there are over 6391carpet weaving frames in sabzevar and 12300people are engaged in the weaving of carpets .the annual carpet production capacity here is 100thousand square meters .carpets produced in sabzevar are priced at one to two million rials .produeers of green cumin export 2000metric tons of this product per annum .sabzevar ,meantime , produces 451metric tons of pickled skin ,360 tons of water melon seed , 50tons of almond seed ,20metric tons of soft wool ,50tons of apricot and 350tons of apricot seed annually .major prtions of these items are expirted to other countries through middlemen and dealers who come to sabzevar from other cities and provinces of the country .for instance , although green cumin is one of sabzevar major export products ,non- sabzevari middlemen and dealers traditioknally handle the business here , an issue that has served as a challenge to the establishment of sabzevars union of exporters of cumin .
